• The new year looks good for Real Estate.  The MOST important thing for buyers and sellers is to get started QUICKLY.  The Extended AND expanded Tax Credit is in effect only until April 30 (with closing allowed to happen between then and July 1.)  Time goes by quickly so the time to act is NOW.  There are plenty of homes available for buyers although the inventory is far less than it was a year ago.  Because of this, the prices have stabilized and are actually increasing in some areas.   The bottom line is the time it right for buyers to act but be cautious of the Interest Rates.  Below is a quote from Charles Schwab's Chief Investment Strategist Liz Ann Sonders and Director of Market and Sector Analysis, Brad Sorensen, CFA:

"The Fed has begun to end some of its more extreme measures, including the finale of Treasury purchases, as well as the scheduled end of mortgage-backed securities (MBS) purchases in the first quarter of 2010. We'll be closely watching mortgage rates as these developments continue, as any measurable rise may be detrimental to the housing recovery.   We'll also be watching the Fed as it considers when to start raising interest rates. "
